99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa is a islamic novel which written by Amin Rais daughter named Hanum Salsabiela Rais and her husband Rangga Almahendra. This is Hanum’s first novel that based on her journey during accompany going Rangga to continue his doctoral scholar in Vienna, Austria. It was published in 2011  Yes, last year 99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa has been filmed and they  launched the Part 2 of the movie on 6^th March 2014.

The novel started when Hanum and Rangga was in Vienna, Austria. In case to spend her time, Hanum met Fatma (a Turkey immigrant moslem) at their Deutsch Language Courses class. Fatma felt so glad when she knew that Hanum is a moslem too, same like her. They’ve got a really good friendship and Fatma always told Hanum that she wanted to be a Good Muslim Agent in Europe, and it will happen without violence, you just have to smile. And their friendship lead their passion to visit some cities in Europe that have Islamic history and maybe not all people known before, such as Vienna, Paris, Cordoba, Granada, Istanbul and many more, also Fatma tried her best to show the beauty of Islam from other side like arts, architecture, knowledge, and tolerance.

This story tells us about all Moslem have to do in this global era, not with any violence. It makes us to know that Islam has a Glory Age when Europa trapped in a Dark Age, it perfectly has been proved in many history books. I like a sentence from Hanum who said “Aku semakin yakin, esensi sejarah bukanlah hanya siapa yang menang dan siapa yang kalah. Lebih dari itu: siapa yang lebih cepat belajar dari kemenangan dan kekealahan”.

I recommended this novel for all muslim teenager like me, because this novel is easy to read and it will increase your Islamic knowledge that you didn’t know it before. Eventhough the writer didn’t post many picture at the novel, it’s an amazing experience when you can picture all of the places by your imagination. It’s a must for all of you to buy this amazing and inspiring book.
